Abstract

1512072 Fluid regulation MASONEILAN INTERNATIONAL Inc 1 May 1975 [10 May 1974] 18262/75 Heading G3H [Also in Divisions F1 and F2] Apparatus for reducing fluid-pressure and attenuating the expansion-generated noise comprises a pressure reducing valve and an attenuating means consisting of a tubular member 3a, 3b in which are mounted a series of "pancakes" 10 each formed of a series of perforated plates 11 solidly joined to eath other. The plates are formed by welding together a series of parallel wires 12 and 13 placed substantially perpendicular to each other. The wires in succeding plates may have an orientation different from that in the preceeding plate and the mesh may vary along the length of the tube.
