Abstract

1511705 Valves M PIAT 3 Nov 1975 [8 Nov 1974 2 Oct 1975] 45692/75 Heading F2V [Also in Division B8] An apparatus for metering liquid comprises a flowmeter 1 and a metering device 7 which has a plate 10 driven by the flowmeter and carrying a ball 15 to close the outlet 9 of the apparatus after rotation of the plate from a preset angular position. The flowmeter drives the metering device through gears 5. The plate 10 has a series of holes 11 and the ball 15 is retained in a recess 14 of a plunger 12 with a locating peg 13. To set the apparatus the plunger is raised and rotated to the required angle and then lowered to locate the peg in one of the holes 11. Fluid flows through the flowmeter and the metering device until the ball is moved to close the outlet 9.
