Abstract

1511019 Compressor stator blade fixing UNITED TECHNOLOGIES CORP 25 July 1975 [29 July 1974] 31284/75 Heading F1T Circumferential groups 42 of blades 44 are each retained in an annular groove in an unsplit compressor casing by an arcuate member 46 bolted to the casing and engaging a recess 56 in each blade base 54. Circumferential movement of the blades is prevented by plates 48 secured to the ends of respective members 46. Clearances 60, 62 permit the blades to rock thus damping vibrations, the rubbing surfaces being hardsurfaced to reduce wear. In the arrangement shown, there are six groups 42, four each having fourteen blades 44, one having thirteen and the final group only one.
