1510570 2 - Desoxy - streptamine derivative ROUSSEL-UCLAF 24 Dec 1976 [17 Nov 1976] 54171/76 Addition to 1502537 Heading C2C Novel N 1 - [L - (-) - 2 - hydroxy - 4 - aminobutyryl] - 4 - 0 - [2<SP>1</SP>,6<SP>1</SP> - diamino - 2<SP>1</SP>,6<SP>1</SP> - didesoxy - α,D - glucopyranosyl] - 6 - 0 - [3<SP>11</SP>- methylamino - 3<SP>11</SP>,4<SP>11</SP>,6<SP>11</SP> - tridesoxy - α,D- xylohexopyranosyl] - 2 - desoxystreptamine pentasulphate is prepared by acidifying the corresponding free base to pH about 2 with H 2 SO 4 . Pharmaceutical compositions having antibiotic activity comprise, as active ingredient, the pentasulphate, in association with a suitable pharmaceutical vehicle.
