Abstract

1510478 Beehives W GARRATT & SON Ltd 20 Dec 1976 [22 Oct 1975] 43446/75 Heading AIM A beehive base is moulded from an integralskinned rigid polyurethane foam and has a floor 2 with side walls and a back wall extending on each side of the floor, the height of the walls 3A, 4A on one side of the floor being greater than the height of the walls 3B on the other side, so that the base can be reversed to provide a large entrance in summer and a small entrance in winter. Either way up the floor slopes downwardly from back to front. The entrance may accommodate an entrance block (Fig. 2, not shown) providing a landing board and an entrance slot, the entrance block being insertable in a different orientation to close the entrance when desired.
