Abstract

1508789 Electrical connectors PITCRAFT Ltd 9 June 1976 [21 March 1975] 11827/75 Heading H2E An electrical joint may be effected between two electrical conductors, for example bus-bars 3, by a jointing member 2 having a slot for receiving at least part of the ends of the conductors, and one or more resilient electrical conductive members 5 which, in use, are interposed between adjacent surfaces of member 2 and ends of the conductors and take up play and urge the conductor ends into engagement with the jointing member and accommodate displacement of the ends with respect to the jointing member. The conductive members 5 may be copper beryllium strips with lamellµ 11 pressed at an angle of 40 degrees from the plane thereof, thus allowing a degree of articulation whilst maintaining electrical contact between the ends of the conductors. The conductor ends may fit entirely into the jointing member 2, as shown in Fig. 1, or inturned lips 16 thereof (Fig. 6) may fit behind flanges 7 of an I sectioned member 2.
