Abstract

2-Stilbenyl-1,2,3-triazoles of the formula <IMAGE> where R1 is hydrogen, an alkali metal or ammonium cation, alkyl, alkenyl, phenyl, substituted phenyl, hydroxyalkylphenyl or cycloalkyl and R2, R3, R4 and R5 are each hydrogen or a substituent defined in Claim 1, are, if new, used for brightening in particular textile fibres made of polyesters, polyamides and polyacrylonitriles.
