Abstract

1507450 Beams, columns BRITISH STEEL CORP 20 May 1975 [7 June 1974] 25437/74 Heading E1W A hollow steel structural member has a filling of fibre reinforced concrete. The fibres may be glass, carbon or steel in which case they are preferably wire with round cross section portions alternating with stamped flat portions or they may be cut swarf. The structural member is preferably a square suction hollow member. The filling may be provided at spaced intervals along the length of the structural member.
