Abstract

1506851 Injection moulding fibre reinforced aerial L JESMAN 5 June 1975 [5 June 1974] 24984/74 Heading B5A [Also in Divisions H3-H5] A mobile aerial (see Division H4) is formed utilizing an injection moulding process in which a long coil 12 of steel wire is encased in a two-part mould 21, 22 having independently temperature controlled spaced injection means 1-6. The coil, which is wound on a glass fibre rod support 24, is supported in the mould at sites 25 opposite each injection means. The material used for the moulding-varies in composition from, for example, 70% nylon to 30% glass at the thicker end at means 1 to nylon only at the thinner end at means 6. The ribbed cross-section of the moulding tapers from one end to the other (Figs. 1-3, not shown).
