Abstract
1506731 Regenerating active carbon KYORITSU YUKI KOGYO KENKYUSHO KK 6 March 1975 [9 May 1974] 9278/75 Heading C1A [Also in Division H5] Active carbon which has been used to purify contaminated liquid is regenerated by passing it continuously through an airtight vertical furnace past a plurality of vertically spaced sets of electrodes wherein a higher voltage is applied across electrodes in an upper region of the furnace to evaporate off moisture and decompose organics than across the electrodes in a lower region where the temperature is raised to regenerating temperature. A liquid electrolyte may be added to the carbon and steam may be admitted to the furnace.
