Abstract

1506165 Variable capacitor L H T LARGE 21 May 1975 [14 Aug 1974] 35763/74 Heading H1M In a variable capacitor the fixed electrode comprises internally threaded shell 3 and the movable electrode a helical plate 2 wound on edge on shaft 1 screwable within shell 3 to vary the capacitance, either or both of the members having an insulating coating constituting the capacitor dielectric. The members may be metal or metal-coated plastics. Shell 3 may house a brush holder or the like insulated therefrom and located so as to contact plate 2 through a groove in any insulation thereon.
