Abstract

1503396 Beam forming network MARCONI CO Ltd 20 July 1976 [4 Oct 1975] 40725/75 Heading H4A A network for forming multiple beam signals from the signals of individual antenna array elements, or vice versa, includes a resistor matrix 1 and a plurality of passive wide-band phase-shift devices for resolving signals fed to the network into predetermined phase relationships. One such phase-shift device, shown in Fig. 2, includes monopole and duopole wide-band phase-shifters 7, 8 and wide-band transformers 9, 10, and produces four quadrature signals from a single antenna element signal.
