Abstract

1503313 Electrical connectors N J MURRELL 5 May 1975 [9 May 1974] 20462/74 Heading H2E An edge connector for a printed circuit board 10, comprises a holder 11 with individual contacts 12 carried in the manner of a printed circuit on the surface of a strip 13, which is formed and mounted to allow independent displacement of the contacts. A common resilient pressure pad 17 biases the contacts against the conductors of the board. The strip is mounted in the holder by lugs 14 which engage apertures 15. The strip may be thin and flexible or thicker and more rigid in which case it is thinned down in the region of contacts 12, and slotted at 20 between the contacts to form fingers. The pad 17 may be a rubber cord or a helical spring.
