Abstract

1503242 Antiskid braking systems BENDIX CORP 12 Jan 1976 [31 Jan 1975] 01026/76 Heading F2F An antiskid braking system including wheel speed or acceleration sensors, logic circuits 14 and a brake pressure modulating valve also comprises a circuit 12 which generates test signals at regular intervals both at ignition and when the vehicle is running to simulate a skid signal from wheel sensors at coil 16 and impresses these signals on the sensor output to operate logic circuit 14 and "exercise" the brake pressure modulating valve. Response of the modulating valve to the test signal at its coil 100 opens a switch 70. Failure of the switch 70 to open due to valve, logic circuit or sensor malfunction, or alternatively the opening of a second switch 71 upon vacuum failure, causes indicator 31 to light up. Operation of the system is initiated by the vehicle ignition switches 26 and 28.
