Abstract

1503220 Amine oxygen scavengers CHEMED CORP 14 Nov 1975 [17 March 1975] 47141/75 Heading C1C [Also in Division C7] A method for control of corrosion in an aqueous system comprises adding an effective amount of an oxygen scavenger wherein R 1 , R 2 and R 3 are the same or different and are selected from H, lower alkyl and aryl, or watersoluble salts thereof (selected as given below). 0À001 to 500, preferably 0À01 to 50, parts per million parts of water of oxygen scavenger are added. The lower alkyl have 1-8C, and the aryl may be phenyl, benzyl or tolyl. The salts may be chloride, sulphate, acid sulphate, phosphate and sulphite. Compounds named are hydroxylamine, N,N-diethylhydroxylamine, ethylhydroxylamine, N,N-dimethylhydroxylamine, O-methylhydroxylamine, O-hexylhydroxylamine, N-heptylhydroxyl amine, N-dipropylhydroxylamine, O-methyl- N,N-diethylhydroxylamine, N-octylhydroxylamine, O-ethyl-N,N-dimethylhydroxylamine, N-methyl-N-ethylhydroxylamine, N-butylhydroxylamine, N-benzylhydroxylamine (#-benzyl hydroxylamine) and O-benzylhydroxylamine (α-benzylhydroxylamine).
