Abstract

1502629 Adhesive tapes WITTO ELECTRIC INDUSTRIAL CO LTD 11 Dec 1975 [11 Dec 1974] 50733/75 Heading B2E [Also in Division C3] Pressure sensitive adhesive tapes may be prepared by coating substrates with adhesive compositions comprising (I) a liquid diene polymer having a molecular weight of 1.000- 50,000 and containing an average of 2.0 to 2.5 isocyanate-reactive groups per molecule, (2) an isocyanate compound containing at least two isocyanate groups per molecule, (3) a tackifier and (4) 0.2 to 10 parts per 100 parts by weight of (1) and (2) of an anionic surface active agent. Examples describe the preparation of tapes by coating plasticised polyvinyl chloride films with compositions comprising (1) carboxyl-terminated polybutadiene, diphenyl methane diisocyanate, terpene resin and sodium fatty acid salt, sodium dodecylbenzene sulphonate, sodium lauryl sulphate or sodium alkylphenyl phosphate, (2) hydroxy-terminated styrene/butadiene copolymer, hydroxy-terminated polybutadiene, polyether diisocyanate, sodium dodecylbenzene sulphonate and xylene/formaldehyde resin, coumarone resin, aromatic petroleum resin, terpene resin or terpene/phenol resin, and (3) hydroxy-terminated styrene/butadiene copolymer, tolylene diisocyanate, terpene/phenol resin, aromatic petroleum resin and sodium dodecylbenzene sulphonate.
