Abstract

1500655 Wind deflectors for vehicles DR-ING hcF PORSCHE AG 13 April 1976 [17 May 1975] 15005/76 Heading B7J A rigid air deflector 10 is positioned transversely of a vehicle along a front edge of an aperture 2 accommodating a movable root 3 and, after removal of the roof 3, the deflector is moved by manual, mechanical or electromechanical means to the position C and a spring loaded control arrangement permits pivoting rearwardly towards the position D in response to increased air pressure on the deflector as the vehicle speed increases. A suitably profiled guide surface 12 is arranged arcuately around the deflector pivot bearing 20 and is contacted by a control member 13 which must be forced into a housing 15 against the force of a spring 14 as the deflector moves from C to D. The position D corresponds to the maximum vehicle speed and the spring 14 must be further compressed to move the deflector to the inoperative position B.
