Abstract
1500350 Neutron well-logging TEXACO DEVELOPMENT CORP 24 March 1976 [12 May 1975] 11797/76 Addition to 1499427 Heading G1A The disclosure is substantially identical to that of British application 1499427 with the added feature that at least two thermal-neutron or gammaray detectors are positioned at different distances from the fast neutron source longitudinally of the borehole. The ratio between the thermal-neutron populations measured by these spaced detectors is used to determine the fast-neutron slowing-down length in the earth formations and hence to derive an indication of the porosity of the formations, in addition to their thermal-neutron decay constant.
