1500090 Suspension device for artificial leg VESSA Ltd 18 Nov 1976 [22 Dec 1975] 52427/75 Heading A5R A suspension device for an artificial leg G comprises a pelvic band consisting of a flexible waist belt B and a rigid reinforcing strip A sandwiched between layers of said belt and a downwardly directed stem C pivotally connected at its lower end to a stem F on the artificial leg, said stem C being pivoted at D to the reinforcing strip to allow limited fore and aft movement of said stem about a pivotal axis perpendicular to the length of the stem. Stops for limiting the extent of such movement may be incorporated in the pivot or formed integrally with or attached to the reinforcing strip. The pivot D may alternatively be a universal joint allowing some sideways pivoting of the stem as well as the fore and aft movement.
