Abstract

1499868 Fibre control system in drawing machines N SCHLUMBERGER & CIE 2 July 1975 [16 July 1974] 27866/75 Heading DIN A fibre control system 4 in a drawing device has at least one control element 21, made of an elastomer, which extend(s) transversely of the fibre path and are (is) mounted on slit tubes 22 into which a rib 34 extends, a retention head 36 being provided on the rib and the slit tubes 22 being guided and driven to carry the elements 21 in opposition to another fibre control system 3. The retention heads 36 can be of several different sections, Figs. 3-7 (not shown). The control element 21A, Fig. 8 can extend over several support tubes, and may completely envelope the array of tubes, its respective ends abutting to form effectively a continuous belt, Fig. 9 (not shown). The working surface of the control elements may be flat, concave or have roughness, nicks, notches, undulations or depressions.
