Abstract
1499242 Brick walls J-P STURM 2 March 1976 08384/76 Heading E1B In a brick wall built from blocks having series of staggered through cavities 6 and with end faces defining channels into at least some of which mortar is received, two strips of mortar with an insulation strip 12 therebetween are included between each horizontal course. Vertical joints preferably also comprise two strips of mortar and an insulating strip. The insulating material in the horizontal joints is preferably a roll or plait of glass or rock wool filaments enclosed in a sealed sheath of plastics whereas that in the vertical joints is preferably foamed polyurethane. The strips of insulating material closes the ends of some of the cavities.
