1498064 Artificial leather BOR MUBOR ES CIPOIPARI KUTATO INTEZET 10 March 1975 9785/75 Heading D2B A process for making artificial leather comprises admixing leather fibres obtained by grinding or shredding chrome-tanned or both chrome-tanned and bark-tanned leather wastes with at least 10% by wt. of cellulosic fibres having a freeness of 20‹ to 80‹ SR, based on the total wt. of dry fibres, and a binder, and forming artificial leather from the admixture by a felting process. Specified binders include natural and synthetic latices. The natural latex may be stabilised with a polyglycol. The binder may be coagulated on the fibres using aluminium sulphate. Sulphonated animal fat may be added with the binder.
