Abstract

1498042 Cryogenic tanks WHESSOE Ltd 3 March 1975 [6 March 1974] 33360/77 Divided out of 1498041 Heading F4P A cryogenic tank has inner and outer shells 2, 3 with particulate insulating material 6 therebetween, a resilient compressible blanket 5 being provided on the inner shell in two vertically spaced sections 14, 15. There may be more than two sections and they may alternatively be mounted on the outer shell. A backing layer on each section 14, 15 contacts the material 6 and is of a material which reduces the frictional drag forces imposed on the each section. Alternatively, each section may be provided with an independently supported curtain to reduce these drag forces as described and claimed in Parent Specification.
