Vacuum cleaning-apparatus. - The vacuum produced in the induction pipe of a motor-vehicle engine is utilized to draw air through the nozzle of a vacuum cleaner which may be used to clean the body, seats, and other parts of the vehicle, the air being filtered before entering the induction pipe to form part of the working charge. A vacuum-cleaner nozzle 17 is fitted to a length of flexible hose 16 which is connected through a filter 10 and valve 12 with a pipe 13 connected to the induction pipe 7 between the carburettor 8 and the cylinder 6. The filter is mounted on a dash-board 9 and comprises a casing 10, Fig. 2, enclosing a perforated cylindrical screen 19 which holds the fabric filtering-bag 18. The screen 19 is perforated around its periphery only and is secured at its upper end to a sleeve 21 resting on a shoulder 22 inside the casing. The bag is sewed or otherwise made fast to a ring 23 which acts as a washer between the sleeve 21 and the cap 11 to which the pipe 16 is attached. A fine mesh screen 14 is mounted over the outlet to the valve 12.
