Abstract

1495999 Rear view mirrors R LAFONT SA G COCORDAN and R J-B LAFONT 17 March 1975 [20 March 1974] 11009/75 Heading B7J A breakaway interior driving mirror comprises a rigid base 1 for bonding by its surface 4 to a vehicle windscreen and having arcuate slide guides 2 on its outer periphery; and a flexible, mirror supporting member 6 provided with corresponding slides 7 for co-operating with the guides 2, disposed on the inner peripheral surface of an annular collar of the member 6. Complementary bosses 5 and 8 are provided centrally of the base 1 and the member 6 respectively, the boss 8 projecting from the member 6 by a distance greater than the thickness of the slide guides 2 so that member 6 is a force fit on the base when engaged thereon in bayonet fashion by rotation until the slides 7 abut stops 3.
