Abstract

1495434 Windscreen wipers DUCELLIER ET CO 27 May 1975 [7 June 1974] 23095/75 Heading A4F A vehicle windscreen wiper arm is driven by a motor 1 via a reduction gear which comprises a worm 2 coupled for rotation with the motor armature, a worm-wheel 3 mounted for rotation on a shaft 5 and meshing with the worm, a crank system 8, 9 driven by the wheel 3 and driving an input shaft 7 for the wiper arm, and a disc 6 attached at one end of the shaft 5 and coupled for rotation with the wheel 3 by interengaging teeth 11, 13, the crank system 8, 9 being attached e.g. by pin 6a to either the wheel 3 or the disc 6 and a rotary switch element (not shown) for determining the parked position of the wiper arm being coupled to the disc 6 or the wheel 3 respectively, such that by changing the position of the disc 6 relative to the wheel 3 by interengaging the teeth 13 with selected ones of the teeth 11, the parked position of the wiper arm can be adjusted. As shown the teeth 13 are formed on the periphery of the disc 6 and the teeth 11 in a recess 3a of the wheel 3. Alternatively the teeth 11, 13 may be provided on the faces of the wheel 3 and the disc 6 respectively.
