1493234 Phenylamidinoureas WILLIAM H RORER Inc 31 March 1976 13101/76 Addition to 1451479 Heading C2C Novel compounds (III) (including salts thereof) wherein: X<SP>11</SP>, Y<SP>11</SP> and Z<SP>11</SP> may be at any available position in the phenyl nucleus; X<SP>11</SP> represents a hydrogen or halogen atom, or an alkyl group; Y<SP>11</SP> represents a hydrogen or halogen atom, or an alkyl, haloalkyl, alkoxy or nitro group; Z<SP>11</SP> represents a halogen atom, or an alkyl, haloalkyl, alkoxy, haloalkoxy, nitro, cyano or alkylsulphonyl group; R 1 , R 2 and R 3 , which may be the same or different, each represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group; and either R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>11</SP>, which may be the same or different, each represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl, cycloalkyl, cycloalkylalkyl, aralkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl or cycloalkenyl group, or R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>11</SP> together with the adjacent N-atom represent a saturated heterocyclic ring, optionally substituted by one or more alkyls) are made by standard methods from corresponding guanidines and thioureas.
