Abstract
1493023 Voltage measuring ASSOCIATION DES OUVRIERS EN INSTRUMENTS DE PRECISION 19 March 1975 [20 March 1974] 11412/75 Heading G1U [Also in Division H4] A voltage difference indicator Fig. 1, comprises two amplifiers A, B having identical gains set so as to maintain the output signal of amplifier A constant. Three realisations of such a circuit are described, Figs. 2, 3 and 4 (not shown) see Division H4. Such an arrangement can be used to measure an unknown voltage in two ways: either a reference voltage 3', Fig. 5, can be applied via a calibrated attenuator Ate to one input of the voltage difference indicator 1, and the attenuator adjusted until balance is achieved with an unknown voltage applied to the other input of the difference indicator 1; or a reference voltage 3, Fig. 6, can be applied direct to the difference indicator, the unknown voltage being applied via a calibrated variable gain amplifier C whose gain is adjusted until balance is attained. The voltage difference indicator can also be used to measure the attenuation of a network DP, Fig. 7, by applying a reference voltage 7 direct to the difference indicator and also via the network DP under test, the gain of an amplifier AmE in the latter path being adjusted until balance is attained.
