Abstract

1492950 Regulating vehicle headlamps WESTFALISCHE METALL INDUSTRIE KG HUECK & CO 12 Nov 1974 [24 Dec 1973] 48891/74 Heading F4R [Also in Division G3] A servomotor 11 for adjusting the headlamps of a vehicle carries a valve unit 10 having closure members 29, 30 to control the servomotor in response to pressure signals applied to opposite sides of a diaphragm 3 by modulators controlled by relative movement between the vehicle chassis and its axles. The closure members are hinged to the valve unit and actuated by a pin 22 on a rod 13 connected to the diaphragm. Downward deflection of the diaphragm opens the closure member 30 to connect the space below the servomotor to a source 28 of positive or negative pressure while upward deflection opens the closure member 29 to connect the space to atmosphere through a filter 31. Upward movement of the servomotor is restricted by flexible elements 15 of polyester in stranded metal wire.
