Abstract

1490464 Desensitizer compositions FUJI PHOTO FILM CO Ltd 11 Feb 1976 [17 Feb 1975] 05477/76 Heading C4A [Also in Division D2] A desensitizer composition which reduces or extinguishes the capability of a developer to colour-form by reaction with a colour-less compound comprises (a) one or more desensitizers and (b) 0À05 to 15%, e.g. weight of the composition, of one or more compounds having an an absorption peak (measured on a 0À001 weight percent solution of the compound in an alcoholic solvent) in the wavelength region of from 300 mÁ to 400 mÁ and a molecular absorption coefficient of above 2000. In the Examples the compounds (b) are 2-(2<SP>1</SP>-hydroxy- -5<SP>1</SP>-methyl-phenyl)-benzotriazole, 2-(2<SP>1</SP>-hydroxy 3<SP>1</SP>, 5<SP>1</SP>-di-tert-butylphenyl)-benzotriazole, p-tertbutylphenyl salicyclate, 2-hydroxy-4-methoxybenzophenone, 2, 4-dihydroxybenzophenone and 2 - hydroxy - 4 - oxybenzylbenzophenone.
