Abstract

1489699 Substituted ureas JOHANN A WULFING 28 Feb 1975 [7 March 1974] 8431/75 Heading C2C Substituted ureas of the formula wherein R is an alkyl group or alkoxy alkyl group, are obtained by reacting together monoalkylamine or monoalkoxyalkylamine hydrochlorides (R-NH 2 -HCl) with urea, by heating with stirring a solvent-free mixture of the amine hydrochloride and urea, to melt the mixture, and then further heating the melt to 135‹ to 145‹ C. and on completion of the reaction, cooling the melt to a temperature of at least 100‹ C., adding water thereto and subsequently removing the dialkyl or dialkoxyalkyl urea formed by filtration under suction or extraction with a water-immiscible organic solvent.
