1489463 Racks; shelves TECHNOMOULD Ltd 14 Jan 1976 [24 Jan 1975] 3188/75 Heading A4B A wall mountable rack or shelf is moulded as an integral unit of plastics material and comprises a first planar member 3 with holes 11 to receive wall fixing screws, a second planar member 2 hinged along a longitudinal edge 4 to the first member 3 for movement between a storage position in which the members 2, 3 are coplanar and an operative position in which they are mutually inclined, preferably at 90 degrees, the members 2, 3 being maintained in the operative position by one or more planar bracing members 8 extending between the members 2, 3. The hinge 4 and a hinge 8' connecting one end of a bracing member 8 to the first member 2 may be formed by grooves formed during the moulding of the unit. Alternatively, the groove 4 may be otherwise formed in a single sheet from which the unit is formed. The T-shaped from end 7 of each bracing member 8 engages a corresponding hole 6 in the second member 2. The free edge of the second member 2 may, as shown, be formed with recesses 5 to receive the shafts of tools, e.g. chisels. Alternatively the second member 2 may comprise a shelf. In a modification the recesses 5 are replaced by hook shaped projections. Alternatively the second member 2 may support one edge of a shelf. In another modification, T-shaped holes 6 are provided in both planar members 2, 3.
