Abstract

1489295 Credit card gate BURROUGHS CORP 9 July 1975 28822/75 Heading G4V A credit card inserting and ejecting gate comprises two relatively movable portions 12, 14 each having two inclined surfaces 18, a block 20, 22 is attached to each portion 12, 14 respectively, the blocks being slightly closer together than the widths of a credit card, springs 24 urge the portions together. The blocks have inclined surfaces 26 so that when a credit card is inserted through slot 6 in front plate 2, it engages blocks 20, 22 causing the two portions to be forced horizontally and consequentially vertically so that a gap appears between the portions to allow the credit card to pass therebetween. Ejection of the card is obtained by the portions having bevelled edges 28. The portions are mounted on posts 10 which are fixed to frame 8.
