Abstract

1488811 Dielectric liquid BP CHEMICALS INTERNATIONAL Ltd 14 Aug 1975 [20 Sept 1974] 41042/74 Heading C5F A dielectric liquid suitable for the impregnation of capacitors, comprises one or more esters of non-halogenated aromatic carboxylic acids and one or more polybutenes having a numberaverage molecular weight between 300 and 3000. The preferred esters are d-2-ethylhexyl phthalate and commercial di-isooctyl phthalate, but esters of isophthalic, terephthalic, pyromellitic and trimellitic acids are also referred to. The composition may be treated with an activated earth.
