1487977 Securing multiple section storage cases BACHLI E 13 Jan 1975 1381/75 Heading E2A A multiple section storage case in which sections are arranged one above the other and are connected by columns 5 having elbow joints (not shown) as disclosed in U.K. Specification 1455551, is characterised by a locking mechanism consisting of: a hollow body 3 mounted on the uppermost section or lid 1 slidingly engaging a column 5; a locking lever 6 having a recess 7 for engaging a bolt 10 fixed to the column; and a spring 8 biassing the lever 6 into engagement with the bolt when the sections of the case are extended along the columns to their uppermost position. A pair of guides 4 help to locate the mechanism. An eye 11 may receive a lock for locking the case when closed, with the columns pivoted about their elbow joints to form a carrying handle.
