Abstract

1486838 Charging and discharging tunnel furnaces F CARTEI and M CARTEI 8 Oct 1974 43624/74 Heading F4B A pusher conveyer for a continuous tunnel furnace for treating ceramics and other materials comprises a horizontal closed loop track 1 having four rectilinear sections forming a square or rectangle, the track comprising rollers 3 and trays 5, and means for pushing the trays intermittently and automatically in a single direction. As shown the further means comprises rams 6-6c actuated by hydraulic motors 8 under the control of a device in a power unit 9 whereby hydraulic fluid is distributed to the motors 8 in a predetermined order, limit switches 10-10c being provided at the end of each section and engaged by the leading trays. Each corner of the track is occupied by a plate 4-4c, each plate being given a limited sideways movement to enable the trays to clear corners 1a between the sections.
