Abstract

1486596 Stacking sheets HOTCHKISS BRANDT MECANISATION 2 Oct 1974 [2 Oct 1973] 42808/74 Heading B8R [Also in Division B6] A receiver for envelopes in a postal code printer (see Division B6) comprises a receptacle 52 into which envelopes, fed to a point 76 by an endless belt and nip rollers 49, are pushed by a spiral surfaced pusher 51. The base of the receptacle 52 is inclined by about 20 degrees to the horizontal, and is formed by freely rotatable rollers 57. An inclined baffle 53 is loaded by a counter-weight system (not shown) to urge the stack of envelopes in the receptacle towards the pusher 51. The pusher 51 is rotated by a motor 56 through an electromagnetic clutch permitting single revolutions of the pusher under control of a photo-electric detector 55.
