Abstract

1485620 Vehicle wheels DUNLOP Ltd 8 Nov 1974 [17 Nov 1973 23 Jan 1974] 53495/73 and 03039/74 Addition to 1432545 Heading B7C A vehicle wheel comprises two rim portions 2, 3 each having a radially inwardly extending attachment flange 4, 5, a circumferential extending channel provided between the flanges and bounded by radially spaced-apart walls, a sealing ring 16 of less dimension than the channel radially of the wheel, means for releasably clamping the flanges together, and a wheel disc 7, wherein the periphery of the disc constitutes the radially inner wall, and said periphery is sandwiched between the flanges. The radially outer wall may be provided by a rib 17 on the outboard rim portion 2 or by the inner periphery of a ring (23) (Fig. 3, not shown) of inverted J-section, the ring having a portion sandwiched between the flanges and a portion which prevents axially inward movement of the outboard tyre bead.
