1485529 Carbon structures CHEMOTRONICS INTERNATIONAL Inc 24 March 1975 03375/77 Divided out of 1485528 Heading C1A A carbon structure comprises at least one crack-free strand of carbon which reproduces the shape of a polyurethane resin strand infused with a liquid thermoset furan resin or furan resin precursor substantially free of a surface coating of liquid furan resin or precursor and then cured so as to thermoset, and with a cured infused weight of up to six times that of the strand alone and which during and after carbonization resists cracking when rapidly heated to 2500‹ C. under inert, reducing or vacuum conditions.
