1485517 Sizing solutions from aminopropyl triethoxysilane GENERAL ELECTRIC CO 17 Dec 1974 [26 Dec 1973] 54382/74 Heading C3T [Also in Division B5] A sizing solution is prepared by reaction of 0À5-10 volume per cent of gamma-aminopropyl triethoxysilane with 0À5-10 volume per cent of water in a compatible solvent to total 100 volume per cent. In examples solutions of 2 or 4 vol.per cent of H 2 N-CH 2 CH 2 CH 2 -Si(OEt) 3 and 0À25-2 vol. per cent of water in MeOH, EtOH, i-PrOH, or a mixture of these are aged for 24 or 48 hours and applied to glass plates, which are then dried and laminated to slabs of a poly. siloxane-polycarbonate block copolymer or of a polycarbonate, under various laminating conditions.
