Abstract

1481394 Guiding cables CROCKETT ENG Ltd 25 Feb 1976 [26 Feb 1975] 7999/75 Heading B8B A device for restraining one or more cables against unwanted movement as a mining machine with which the cables are associated, is traversed along a conveyer 23, comprises an upright plate 12 having both a flexible retainer member 15 and a bracket 11 projecting horizontally therefrom, to form with the conveyer spillplate 22 and clevis rail 21, an enclosed space 23a to receive said cable, the member 15 being deflectable for passage of the cable to and from the suace 23a. The member 15 comprises a U- shaped flexible wire reinforced hose clamped by U-bolts 14 to a U-sectioned member 13 welded to the top of the plate 12. Upstanding lugs 16 on the member 13 laterally locate the member 15 which has its ends closed by plugs 17, one of which acts as a pivotal retainer for a retainer plate 18. The latter retains further hoses and cables supported by flanges 20 projecting from the plate 12 on the opposite side to the space 23a, and the lower end of the plate is slotted for gravitational reception on a pin 19 on the plate 12. A plurality of these devices are secured by bolting at spaced intervals along the clevis rail 21. In the embodiment of Fig. 4 (not shown) the flexible retaining member is secured below the U-sectioned member 13 and a separate retainer plate is provided for cable housed within the member 13.
