1480911 Farming solutions FREBAR HOLDING AG 5 Sept 1974 38876/74 Heading B1Q A solution of a fine or powdered solid (e.g. sugar) is continuously produced by introducing the solid (10) and solvent (via 18) into a first dissolving vessel (14) under such conditions as to dissolve a substantial portion, withdrawing a portion of the contents of the first vessel (via 30) and passing it to a second vessel (34) maintained under such conditions of motion (e.g. by means of splash plate 40 having an annular concave depression) as to dissolve the remaining solid, withdrawing a portion of the contents of the second vessel (e.g. via perforated plate 60 and filter 62) and passing it (via 50) to the first vessel, and continuously withdrawing the desired solution from the second vessel (via 59). The first vessel may be heated by means of steam jacket 26.
