Abstract

1480720 Ladle stoppers FUNDIPLAST S L 5 March 1976 [4 July 1975] 08876/76 Heading F4B A ladle stopper head for attachment to an actuating rod 1 comprises a first member formed by a plug member 2 having an internal bore with a quadrangular prismatic shape with rounded edges and with two recesses formed therein to receive a second member formed by two wedges 6 which are pressed and fixed in this position by a circular third member 7 introduced around the body of the rod 1 and having a flanged head portion and notches in two opposite surfaces to accommodate the wedges. The three members are all of ceramic material and the recesses in the bore of the plug member 2 are formed at a height above the base of bore equal to that of the head 4 of the rod. The surfaces of the wedges 6 are outwardly inclined towards the upper end of the plug member 2 to facilitate entrance of the member 7. A refractory protective tube 13 surrounds the lower portion of the rod.
