1480492 Spectacle lenses WESLEY-JESSEN Inc 5 July 1974 [13 July 1973] 29836/74 Heading G2J A spectacle lens for correcting aphakia vision comprises a lens shaped body which incorporates or is coated with U.V. and visible light absorbing compounds. The U.V. absorbing compound is selected from 2-hydroxy-4-(2-hydroxypropyl)- methacryloxy-benzophenone, 2, 2<SP>1</SP>-dihydroxy-4, 4<SP>1</SP>-di((2-hydroxypropyl)-methacryloxy-benzophenone), 2-hydroxy-4-methacryloxy-benzophenone and mixtures thereof. The visible light absorbing compound may be a pigment slected from Charcoal Black, Cobalt Blue, Iron Oxide Red, Molybdate Orange, Malachite Green, Cadmium Yellow, Manganese Violet,and mixtures thereof.
