Abstract

1480227 Perfumes UOP INC 12 July 1974 30912/74 Heading A5B [Also in Divisions A2 and C2] Materials obtained by reacting a sulphurcontaining compound with either a carbonyl compound bearing a hydroxyl substituent on a saturated carbon atom in the alpha position, or an alpha, beta-epoxy-substituted carbonyl compound, are used to modify the fragrance of perfumes. An example uses the reaction product of NaHS and butyroin.
