Abstract
1479886 Finishing printed fabrics L B HOLLIDAY & CO Ltd 14 June 1974 [14 March 1973] 04061/77 Divided out of 1479884 Heading D1S Printed textile fabrics or filaments are fixed by passing the textile, sandwiched between endless conveyors 2, 3, through a heated vessel at sub or superatmospheric pressure provided with inlet and outlet seals in the form of an inflatable member 27 which bears on the sandwiched textile in cooperation with a backing member which may either be a second inflatable member 28 [see Fig. 2] or a centrally mounted beam. The seals may be at either end of the vessel [Fig. 1 (not shown)] or adjacent each other at the top thereof- [Fig. 3]. The vessel may be operated at a pressure down to 5 mm Hg and up to 5 atmospheres with saturated steam and at a temp. of 95-240‹C. Slivers may be supported on a further conveyor.
