Abstract

1478844 Rotating sprayers STAFFORDSHIRE CERAMIC SYSTEMS Ltd 4 Sept 1974 [20 June 1973] 29382/73 Heading B2F A spraying apparatus particularly for glazing ceramic ware, comprises a pair of parallel and oppositely rotatable hollow shafts 10, 11 each provided with a plurality of disclike members 15, with clearances between them, along its length and perforations between the disc-like members so that in use, the liquids fed through a pair of fixed pipes 13 to the rotating shafts 10, 11 issue through the perforations in the form of sprays impinging on articles 16 on a moving, endless conveyor 17. The two sets of disc-like members 15 are staggered and the liquid impinging on sloping baffles 18 lining a housing 12 runs into a vessel 20 to be pumped back into a header tank 14 for recirculation. The perforated parts of the shafts are changeable so that the number and/ or size of the perforations can be varied. The two shafts may be separated by a partition in the housing 12 or may be in two separate housings so that the articles on the conveyor are subjected to the two sprays separately.
