1478467 System copying apparatus; masking AGFA-GEVAERT AG 24 June 1974 [23 June 1973] 27991/74 Heading G2X In a system copying apparatus which comprises means for supporting an original and means for selectively masking portions of an original when the original is on the supporting means, the masking means comprises a film of transparent material provided with masking areas, the masking areas having been applied to the transparent film by a hot-embossing method. The masking means may carry a layer of emulsion on which information e.g. form blanks, can be recorded photographically The mask strips can be connected by zip-fasteners, pressure seams, adhesive strips, hooks or press-studs. The two sections 1a and 1b of transparent mask strip carry a layer of developed emulsion 2, such as form blanks 2a produced by a photographic method and inscriptions 2b. White, coloured or metallized masking areas 3 and 4 are applied by hot-embossing thermoplastic sheet of 0À01 to 0À02mm thick plastic of m.p. 100‹ to 200‹C. Information 2c is carried beneath masking area 3. The overlapping sections la and 1b are joined by conical locking studs 6 on bar 7, passing through holes 5 and engaging bar 10. Several sections can be joined to form a mask strip.
