Abstract

1477949 Facsimile apparatus RUDOLF HELL GmbH 18 Sept 1975 [2 Oct 1974] 38453/75 Heading H4F [Also in Division B6] The desired energy distribution, Fig. 4, across a laser beam engraving a printing surface 1, Fig. 3, is obtained by locating an opaque or light-absorbing body 5 in the central region of the laser beam. The cross-section of body 5 is smaller than the cross-section of the laser beam, which may be optically enlarged (Fig. 8, not shown). The body 5 may be square, circular or star-shaped, and may comprise a transversely arranged mirror enclosed in a glass body (Figs. 5-8, not shown).
