Abstract

1477834 Esters AGFA-GEVAERT 7 Aug 1974 [14 Sept 1973 30 Nov 1973] 43336/73 and 55687/73 Heading C2C [Also in Divisions B1 and G2] Monoesters of the formula in which Z completes a benzene- or halogen- or nitrogen-substituted benzene ring and R is unsubstituted aliphatic radical of at least 4 carbon atoms, a cycloaliphatic group, or an aliphatic group substituted with hydroxy, ether or acyloxy groups are prepared by conventional means for use in thermographic recording materials (see Divisions G2-G3). In the specific compounds described the nucleus is tetrachloro- or mononitro-substituted and the esterifying groups are straight or branched alkyl, alkoxyalkyl or hydroxyalkyl or polyalkylene ether radicals.
